About the Piece

This piece portrays the struggles of a young Southern girl who aspires to move to the city and become an artist. While growing up in elementary and throughout high school, whenever I mentioned my dream of becoming an artist, people would often ask me how I planned to make a living out of it. This painting serves as my response to all those who doubted me. I am the bull in the piece "Don't fence me in."
